His attitude and reputation for being disruptive has probably put lots of clubs off him, also he may have scored 15 goals last season, but his average since playing regular first team football is about 8 league goals per season. season before last he got one goal, the season before that the same.

he wants an £8m signing on fee so its not a free, and he's after £80k a week for three years. for me, far too much

How do you reakon 15 goals a season,I don't think he scored 2nd half of the season,he will be another year older and at a reported 8million signing on fee and 65 thousand a week is hardly free and worth it.

Same as everyone says - he's being a greedy bastard, plus his form dropped off. No one is exactly kicking the door down to sign him - there's a reason for that.

He should be retiring next season.

I think he will get max 5 goals

Under 10 of his goals were from open play and as he wouldn't be our regular penalty taker, be the same number again no doubt.

Plus he's a judas cunt and is fucking old.

To be fair to the cunt he was playing in a proper dogshit Sunderland side.
He might offer to play for us for nothing as an apology for that transfer request...................

Javier Hernandez (LITTLE PEA) would be ideal, very Tony COTTEE. Sniffs out a goal from nothing.

Should be all out or that sort IMHO.

The way the Summer seems to have played out so far, I think the club might well consider going back in for Defoe.

Spot on about Hernandez - we should test the water with him for sure

Defoe has fucked himself over, and I still believe he's just had an Indian summer in his career and that form won't continue.

He's scored 158 goals in nearly 470 premier league games. Yet if you ignore true last two seasons he was on 128 in 398. A lot of those games were in a very good Spurs team that finished top 4 yet he only broke the 15 goal barrier once whilst he's there. He's only done it three times in the premier league. He's simply not worth the wages he's asking for.

Barry Bethnal?

Re: 15 goals a season, £65K a week and no transfer fee
Another issue with him was raised a couple of season ago by Danny mills and Jermaine jenas on motd. They were discussingbdefoe and mills said he's the most enduriating player to play with because he always wants to score himself, even if three other players are in a Bette reposition. He'll never pass to you if he thinks he might have half a chance. Jenas backed him up on that. Perhaps the best example for us would be the dying moments of millwall at home where he went through and had Connolly in the middle waiting for a tap in but took it on himself and fucked it up

I also remember Ashton's only England cap where Defoe by getting in front of deano to prod in a ball cut across the area.

I wonder what his assist stats are?
